This is my Life Round Here presentation. It talks about what my life is like around Te Awamutu where I live. All of my class did a presentation like this and we had to judge the six best from our class to go into a competition. There are schools from other countries that have done this competition but there is no winner yet.

Music is the rhythm in my steps, the beat in my heart and the feeling in my words. Music is anywhere you go even if you can’t hear it. On the radio, the whistling in the trees, the birds that sing and the songs on t.v. No matter where you are there will be music, Music is the passion, the pleasure and the inspiration. Tonight, New Zealand versed Australia in the netball world cup. The game started off well with New Zealand getting the first two goals. After our few minutes of success everything started going downhill. The Australians were getting alot of the ball and dominating the court. They played hard and there were many contacts that the umpires let them get away with so I cant say it was fair. The Australians did themselves proud with there game becase they didnt give there ball away much and if they did they would get it back. New Zealands game was good but they would give the ball away to often after an intercept which was really frustrating. But they kept going and fighting so they should be proud as well. Australia against New Zealand in the Netball world cup. Australia won 42-38. I turned up out in the parking lot at quarter past seven where my good friends Hamish and Christina were waiting. We walked inside to give the people our tickets. When we gave those over, we walked into the concert aka basketball courts and waited for our other friends to arrive and the concert to begin. When the Spacifix came out onto the stage everyone in the crowd screamed. They were awesome. They can really sing but of course thats why they are in a band. But its amazing how they can dance really hard and sing so well at the same time. Majority of the girls in the crowd were all screaming at Willy because they all like him. Me and my friends had a really good time dancing and singing along. At the end when it was finished, Christinas ears were ringing because of the loud speakers but mine were fine. Overall I really enjoyed the concert and I think it was worth even more then we payed. On Sunday the 28th of October my family and I drove to the base of Mt Kakepuku. We were all excited to climb the mountain. We got out of the car and started to walk up there. Looking up ahead we climbed over the fence and through the long grass up to the actual mountain. Even though we were’nt on the part where we had to do the actual hiking we were still getting very tired. Clearly that means we’re unfit. There was still another fence to climb in front of us and then there was the track. When we got on the track, we had to work to get up on the first little bit. It was very steep and bumpy. We would walk for about a minute and then rest for about three. This was very continuous until we got around to one third of the mountain. After that we started hiking for longer and having shorter breaks. Quite a few people were coming down and we knew that there would be so many people because of all the cars that we saw down the bottom. The track was cool because of all the beautiful scenery that was inside but it was also very muddy. When we were climbing up there, my thighs and calf muscles were burning and aching but I was determined to get to the top. We knew that we were near the top because people were coming down and telling us that we were. When we got to the top, it was great. We walked through the long grass and up to the tower. The stairs were steep but I wanted to see the view. When you are on the top but not on the tower you can’t see a thing because the trees on the mountain are in the way. On the tower we saw all the surrounding mountains and farms. We also saw Te Awamutu and Kihikihi. It was amazing. When we were done looking at the view, we had to start walking down the mountain. My legs were wobbly like jelly as we tried to get down. I slipped over a few times but I was fine. It took us longer then I thought to get down but eventually we made it. I had alot of fun and I am going to do it again next year. They are always there for me so I am never worried. They drive over to my house to make sure I am alright. When I am with them my worries disappear. They change my life and make me feel happy. They like to joke a lot especially my granddad. He picks on my Nan and is very humorous. I think he and my Nan are awesome. My Nan is a rebel. She knits, cooks, cleans, chops the firewood which is pretty much everything around the house. They love and care for all of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They are joy to be around and all of their family will agree. No one can replace them because they are unique. I am sitting here writing about something that happened these holidays. It is the night before the new term and I am wondering if anything really interesting did happen to me. I’m thinking right back to the start of the holidays and trying to take my mind through the two weeks that I have had off school. I have stayed at home and watched television. I’ve been shooting hoops. I have hung out with my mates a few times. Played singstar and went to the movies. Went with my family to Hamilton and we spent time in Westfield Chartwell. But these things are not interesting. Yes, the movies with my friends and family were fun but when people read these things it isnt really interesting. But even though my holidays were’nt interesting, that has nothing to do with an interesting blog post. It could be if you wrote something interesting that happened in your holidays. My holidays were’nt interesting, but interestingly enough, was my blog post? This is mine and Winiatas photostory. The actual poem was written by me and the movie was made by Winiata and I. The poem is called ‘The Bush’. Download Video: Posted by lynnec at TeacherTube.com. This is my inquiry about Power. My essential question was Which of the leading countries have the most power? We were given this task at the start of this term and also until week 9 of this term to complete it. We brainstormed what we knew about power and then made our essential question. After that we wrote our research questions and then started to look for the answers to those questions. After we had completed our research, we planned our presentation of our inquiry. I chose to make my inquiry in Movie Maker. This is my inquiry presentaion. Download Video: Posted by lynnec at TeacherTube.com. |
